Catching Up

I actually have a lot going on here game wise, but have had little time to blog about it. First off, our regular Crimson Tombs campaign has been on hiatus for a little while but it starts back up next week.

I also splurged on a NookColor from Barnes & Noble and have been reading the Pathfinder RPG GameMastery Guide at the doctor's office or while standing in stupid long lines in the real world. It's working out quite well at allowing me to keep my RPG library light and portable. I will say that there is an occasional muddled page; basically if there's art on the page around which text flows, the art sometimes squashes a small amount of text. I've only seen this on two or three pages where I was unable to read the text though. I bought my wife one too and she's been reading the Dragonlance series. I expanded both Nooks to max with 32 GB microSD cards.

I also bought my son, Vincent, and I tickets to PaizoCon! I've been watching for airline prices to fall on Bing Travel but so far the tool advises me to wait a bit so that's what I've decided to do. Folks on the Paizo forums recommended Bing Travel so I figured I'd give it a shot. I've been checking for flights a couple of times a week for about four weeks now; it's been many years since I've traveled and I'm looking forward to it. I've already made room reservations and we're definitely going. We're also looking to join in while we're there so ping me if you're running a game at the convention and need players.

My lovely wife and I decided to gift our gaming laptops, a pair of Fujitsu Lifebooks, to our kids, Vincent and Megan. We've had really great performance from Fujitsus over the last 4 years and so we bought the latest Fujitsu Lifebooks (NH571) thus updating our tech. I had absolutely no trouble at all moving HeroLab licenses, but moving Campaign Cartographer 3 is proving to be a big pain in the ass (due to the software, not the laptop). Vincent of course will use his for school and, much more importantly, Pathfinder/HeroLab! Megan is a budding artist and she has developed an interest in moving her manga artistry to the web via DeviantArt so that's what she'll use her's for.

I also finally broke down and subscribed to Kobold Quarterly via PDF. I bought all the back issues while they were on sale for 50% off. The whole kit and caboodle only cost about $75. Kobold Quarterly is a magnificent mag and I'm looking forward to perusing this month's issue on my Nook.

We've also been supporting our local game store big time. I bought a new board game called CastlePanic and my wife bought Trollhalla. I bought the physical copies of the Pathfinder RPG GameMastery Guide, the Pathfinder RPG Advanced Player's Guide and of course Bestiary 2. My lovely wife has also developed an interest in Warhammer 40K miniatures and so I bought her a few boxed sets with which to build an army and yesterday she bought Rogue Trader. The thought of my wife running an RPG is very exciting! She has a ton of gluing to do though! We've also been supporting Reaper in both miniatures and paints.

That's about it unless I think of something I forgot.
